This 5-part course will
teach you how to design and implement Win32 desktop
application solutions using Microsoft Visual Basic
6.0 and is ideal for anyone preparing for the
Microsoft Certified Professional exam. This exam
can also be used towards gaining the Microsoft
Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) credential.
Use our Microsoft-approved

Write
a Microsoft Visual Basic-based application that
accesses data from a database.
Write
a Visual Basic-based application that uses component
object model (COM) components.
Create
an ActiveX® control.
Create
a COM component.
Be
aware of the opportunities that Visual Basic

into their applications.
Our curriculum maps to the syllabus for the Microsoft
Certified Professional (MCP) exam 70-176. On passing
this exam, you will achieve Microsoft Certified
Professional status. You can also use the exam
to gain a core or elective credit towards the
Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD)
certification.
Key Jobs: Programmer or
Developer. Programmers - your passing of
the MCP exam will allow you to demonstrate your
expertise in, and in-depth knowledge of, Visual
Basic to prospective employers. Developers - this
course will help prepare you for one of the four
exams that you need to pass for the Microsoft Certified
Solutions Developer credential.
What You'll Need
This course is designed
for programmers currently using Microsoft Visual
Basic 6.0 to build desktop applications and access
databases.
The minimum PC system
requirements for our CD-ROMs are: 486DX2 66MHz
CPU; Windows 95 or later with a Microsoft compatible
mouse; at least 65MB RAM; a SVGA monitor with
at least 1MB video RAM running at 800x600 resolution
(minimum) (256 colours); 2x speed CD-ROM (minimum);
For audio: MCP compliant sound card with speakers
or headphones.
